Macy DeMeulenaere, LMFT
Hi there, and congratulations on taking the sometimes daunting first step towards finding a therapist! I don’t know you, but I know that this part takes courage. My style as a therapist can be described as collaborative, curious, responsive, warm, and above all else, human. Although we are all experiencing this roller coaster-thing called life, I know that no two stories or individuals are the same. I am genuinely curious about my clients and what makes them who they are, which leads to individualized care and true understanding.
I have experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, stress, life transitions, relational struggles, work-related issues, school/college-related issues, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, low self-esteem/worth, codependency, trauma, and women’s issues, among many other things.
Therapy is both an art and a science. I strive to achieve a balance of these things, and want them to coexist in the therapy room. To accomplish this, I use evidence-based approaches including DBT, solution-focused, and CBT. However, sometimes the best avenue for change is real human connection, and having a witness to your story. I am here for both.
