You are the main character of your story, and I'm here to help you
re-author it (as needed) and to help you to find meaning in
being your own storyteller.

Ava Hutchinson, Intern

About Ava (She/Her):

I believe that healing occurs in a safe space without judgement, and I aim to provide that safe space to clients from all walks of life. As someone who operates under the therapeutic modality of humanistic therapy, I believe you are capable of growth and change, and my role is to stand beside you while you travel that road.

I am a client-led narrative therapist primarily as I believe you know your story best. I will work collaboratively with you to create a treatment plan catered to your goals to create change by
improving your emotional well-being
and I will meet you where you are but challenge you by deconstructing narratives when needed because I believe growth occurs when you are faced with small challenges.

I am passionate about working with humans from ethnic and diverse backgrounds, women, and LGBTQIA+. When people are authentically themselves, powerful transitions can happen
and I want all humans to feel comfortable in my space.

Show up as you are and I will show up as I am. Identities are confusing and as an Bl/POC woman from Iowa, I have experienced what it is like to try to fit an unaccommodating mold.

I enjoy a cup of tea, yoga, walks with my dog, and reading. Also, I like to spend my free time with my dog, family, and friends.

Ava is available for in-person and virtual appointments at the 3500 Center Point Road NE office.
