What makes an individual who they are? This question has always fascinated me and has led to a passion for psychology. After a somewhat circuitous route, I became a nurse and found a new passion. After working in various nursing settings, I decided to combine my passions into one, becoming a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), board certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC). I feel fortunate to have developed truly meaningful connections with patients and co-workers in the last several years. As I have been able to help others live more full and hopeful lives, I have found a career that gives me joy and meaning.

My approach to medication management is summarized in one sentence; The least amount of medications at the lowest effective dose. I believe that nothing occurs in a vacuum, and it’s important to treat you holistically. That means that other options besides medication should be utilized as well. Also, I prefer to work with people. What that means is that I do not seek to tell you what to do, but instead educate you on options so that together, we can find a treatment plan that we both believe has the best chance of success.

I enjoy working with ages 5 and up, and am skilled in treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression and treatment-resistant depression, as well as anxiety, bipolar, and other psychiatric disorders. Finding out who you are and being able to help you decrease symptoms that negatively impact your life is my goal. One way to aid in that goal is to never stop learning - either about you or treatment options. Keeping up-to-date on new modalities of treatment and research is something I strive to do.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you become a happier, healthier version of yourself.
